MITY Enterprises Reaches Settlement in Patent Infringement Suit

OREM, UTAH - MITY Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: MITY), today announced it has reached a settlement in the company's patent infringement lawsuit against Midwest Folding Products. Midwest Folding Products is a privately-held manufacturer of institutional furniture products based in Chicago, Illinois.

The terms of the settlement were undisclosed. MITY filed the lawsuit in January 2002 alleging that Midwest plastic banquet tables were infringing on a patent that MITY holds on the method for constructing the table top for its lightweight, durable banquet tables. Midwest has recently redesigned its plastic banquet table line.

MITY-LITE ADDS NEW CHAIR LINE

OREM, UTAH - Mity-Lite, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MITY Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: MITY), designer, manufacturer and marketer of a variety of institutional furniture, today introduced the new Generous Size MityHost chair line. The new chair line compliments the Standard Size MityHost chair line and can be used to expand seating capacity by mixing and/or matching the chair lines. The product line is available for immediate shipment.

The Generous Size MityHost features a seat and back that are wider and taller than the Standard Size MityHost chair line making it more comfortable and providing more personal space. The line is specifically designed for the hospitality, government, church, higher education, public assembly, and design and architects markets. Each chair has a seat that is 2 inches wider and a back that is 2 inches wider as well as 1  inches taller. As with all MityHost chair lines, the Generous Size chair line is available in an assortment of frame and fabric color options, arm options and the new Flex back option. Each chair is backed by a 10 year warranty.
