The Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Air Quality, Small Business Assistance Program has recognized Mity-Lite's efforts to become more environmentally friendly. A recent article in the department's newsletter highlighted Mity-Lite's efforts.
To become more environmentally friendly, Mity-Lite began using a new bonding process for table production. The new bonding process virtually eliminates potentially harmful pollutants. The move to the new process was influenced by the Clean Air Act's Title V permitting requirements. The Clean Air Act requires companies emitting more than 10 tons of a single hazardous air pollutant each year to submit a Title V permit. This new bonding process eliminates the pollutants as well as the need to apply for a yearly permit.
